Hyenas get a bad reputation, but it’s hard to hold onto it when you meet one this small. Hyena pups are born with dark fur, and the spots come in later. This little one sat so still I almost missed it, watching something just out of frame with big, curious eyes. Small moments like this are my favorite part of the bush.
